Reddit Video Downloader with Sound

Paste a link to a Reddit post and save its video as an MP4 with the sound joined in — in every quality Reddit keeps, up to 1080p when it was uploaded that way. Free, online, no watermark and no app.

Any public Reddit post, comment, share, v.redd.it or i.redd.it link. It starts on its own as soon as you paste.

How to Download Reddit Videos with Sound

  1. Copy the post link

In the Reddit app tap Share under the post and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address of the post from the browser bar. Short share links, redd.it and v.redd.it links all work.

  2. Paste it here

Paste the link into the field above. There is no button to look for: the Reddit video downloader starts on its own as soon as a whole link is in the field.

  3. Pick a quality and download

Every size Reddit stores appears as an MP4 button, largest first. Press one and the video is joined with its sound and saved to your device in seconds.

Why Do Reddit Videos Download Without Sound?

Reddit does not keep a video as one file. It stores the picture and the sound as separate tracks on v.redd.it — a format called DASH — so the player in the app can switch quality on the fly. Saving the video file a browser finds, or a link copied from the player, gives you the picture track alone: an MP4 that plays perfectly and is completely silent.

FromRed.net reads the list of tracks Reddit publishes for every video, takes the picture you chose and the sound that belongs to it, and joins them into one MP4 without re-encoding either. The file you get is what you heard on Reddit, in the quality you picked. If a video still downloads without sound here, it was uploaded silent — the card says so and offers no audio buttons.

Reddit to MP4: Download Videos in HD and 1080p

Every quality on the card is a file Reddit itself stores: commonly 220p, 360p, 480p and 720p, and 1080p when the uploader posted a Full HD video. The buttons are labelled by the short side of the picture, so a vertical phone video 720 pixels wide shows as 720p. Each button also says how large the file will be before you press it.

Nothing is upscaled or compressed again. Reddit to MP4 here means the original H.264 picture and AAC sound in a standard MP4 container, which plays on every phone, computer, TV and editor without converting. The 480p file is also what the player on the card uses, so you can watch before you save.

  • With sound

Picture and audio joined into one MP4, not two files to put together yourself.

  • Every quality Reddit keeps

From a small 220p for chats up to Full HD 1080p when the original was uploaded in 1080p.

  • No watermark

The file is Reddit's own, copied as it is — no logo and no overlay added.

  • Free and online

No sign-up, no app, no browser extension. It works in the browser you are reading this in.

Download Reddit Videos on iPhone, Android and PC

On an iPhone or iPad

Open this page in Safari, paste the link and press the MP4 you want. Safari saves it to Downloads in the Files app; to move it to Photos, open the video there, tap Share and choose Save Video. That extra step is how iOS treats every download from a website.

On Android

In Chrome, Samsung Internet or Firefox the video lands in your Downloads folder and shows up in the gallery a moment later. No app is needed — add the site to your home screen from the browser menu if you save videos often.

On Windows, Mac and Linux

Copy the post address from the browser bar, paste it here and choose a size. The MP4 goes straight to your Downloads folder, ready to play or to drop into an editor.

Save Reddit Videos by Link: Posts, Comments and v.redd.it URLs

Any public Reddit link that leads to a video works: a post on www, old or new reddit.com, a redd.it short link, the /s/ share link the app copies, a direct v.redd.it address, and a link to a single comment. Crossposts are read as the post they share, so you get the original video.

A comment link brings up the media of that comment first and the post's own video below it, so a reaction video in the replies can be saved as easily as the post. Posts marked 18+, private communities and videos hosted on other sites such as YouTube cannot be downloaded here; the card says which it is instead of failing quietly. Where Reddit keeps its own copy of a linked video — often the case for Imgur and Gfycat — that copy is offered with the usual buttons.

Reddit Video Downloader Not Working? Quick Fixes

  • Copy the link again from the Share button: a link cut short in a chat app often loses the post id.
  • Make sure the post is public. Videos in private or quarantined communities, and posts marked 18+, are not downloadable.
  • If the video was posted minutes ago, Reddit may still be processing it — try again shortly.
  • If the card says the media is on another site, the video is hosted on YouTube or similar, not on Reddit.
  • Still stuck? Press Try again on the button, or reload the page: links to prepared files last an hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is FromRed.net Reddit video downloader free?

Yes. There is no fee, no account and no daily cap. It works online in your browser, so there is nothing to install either.

Can I download Reddit videos with sound?

Yes — that is what this downloader is for. Reddit keeps the picture and the sound apart; every MP4 here has them joined into one file. If a video was uploaded without sound, the card says so.

Where do downloaded Reddit videos go on Android / iPhone?

On Android, to the Downloads folder, and they appear in the gallery. On iPhone, Safari puts them in Downloads in the Files app; open the video, tap Share and choose Save Video to move it to Photos.

Can I download a video from a Reddit comment?

Yes. Copy the link to the comment itself (Share on the comment, then Copy link) and paste it here: the comment's video comes first, with its sound.

Is it safe to download Reddit videos?

Yes. You never sign in to Reddit here, you install nothing, and the files are the ones Reddit serves, joined on our side. We keep no history of what you download, and prepared files are deleted within hours.

Can I download Reddit videos in 1080p?

When the video was uploaded in 1080p, yes — a 1080p button appears. If the largest button is 720p, Reddit simply has no larger version of that video.

Can I download the subtitles of a Reddit video?

Yes, when Reddit has them. Reddit writes English captions for many videos automatically, and then the card offers them as SRT and VTT files, put together into whole lines. Load them in a player or an editor next to the MP4.
