Reddit Photo & Image Downloader

Paste a link to a Reddit post with a picture and save the original upload — full size, in HD or 4K when it was posted that way, as JPG or PNG rather than WEBP, and with no watermark. Free and online.

Any public Reddit post, comment, share, v.redd.it or i.redd.it link. It starts on its own as soon as you paste.

How to Download Images from Reddit

  1. Copy the link

Tap Share under the post and choose Copy link, or copy the address from your browser. A direct i.redd.it or preview.redd.it picture address works too.

  2. Paste it here

The Reddit image downloader starts on its own and shows the picture with its real size and format.

  3. Save the original

Press Download. You get the file as it was uploaded to Reddit — full resolution, not the compressed preview.

Save Reddit Photos in Original Quality: HD and 4K

Reddit keeps every uploaded picture at i.redd.it exactly as it was posted. The feed, the app and image search show resized copies, which is why a wallpaper saved from the app looks soft on a big screen. This tool always downloads the original: a 4K wallpaper stays 3840 × 2160 or larger, a phone photo keeps every pixel it was taken with.

Before you press anything, the button tells you the format, the dimensions and the file size, so you know you are getting the full-size image and not a thumbnail.

Download Reddit Images as JPG or PNG, Not WEBP

When you save a picture from Reddit in a browser it often arrives as .webp — a format that many editors, older phones and some social sites still refuse. That WEBP is a preview Reddit converted for speed, not the file that was posted.

Here you get the original format: a JPEG photo downloads as .jpg, a screenshot or a graphic posted as PNG downloads as .png. There is nothing to convert afterwards.

Why "Save Image" on Reddit Gives You a Low-Quality Picture

Right-click → Save Image saves whatever the page displayed, and Reddit displays a preview sized for your screen and recompressed. On a phone that can be a picture a third of the original width. The Reddit app's own download can add an attribution label to the picture.

A link pasted here is read the way Reddit stores the post, so the download is the source file from i.redd.it: no resizing, no second compression, no added watermark.

Download Reddit Pictures Without Watermark on iPhone and Android

On iPhone, open the picture in the viewer and press Download; Safari saves it to the Files app, and Share → Save Image moves it to Photos. On Android it lands in Downloads and appears in the gallery. In both cases the file is the clean original with nothing added to it.

Need Several Photos? Use the Reddit Gallery Downloader

If the post has more than one picture, paste it here anyway — every picture gets its own button. To save the whole set at once as a ZIP, the Reddit gallery downloader is made for exactly that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do Reddit images download as WEBP?

Because a browser saves the preview Reddit shows, which it converts to WEBP to load faster. Here you get the original upload instead, as JPG or PNG.

How do I save a Reddit image in full resolution?

Paste the post link here and press Download. The file comes from i.redd.it, where Reddit keeps the picture exactly as it was uploaded — the button shows its real dimensions first.

Does the Reddit app add a watermark to saved images?

The app can add an attribution label when it saves a picture. The file you download here is the original upload, with nothing added.

Can I download images from a Reddit comment?

Yes. Copy the link to the comment and paste it here, or use the comment downloader. Pictures uploaded in replies are saved in full size.

Can I download a picture from an i.redd.it link?

Yes. Paste the i.redd.it or preview.redd.it address on its own and you get the original picture.
